CodeHouse Hosts Tech Exposure Day 2023 at Mercedes-Benz Stadium

Thousands of high school students from the Atlanta area to attend the monumental event focused on inspiring diverse youth to careers in the tech industry

March 2, 2023

ATLANTA – CodeHouse, the 501(c)(3) non-profit focused on tackling the diversity gap in the tech industry, today hosts Tech Exposure Day 2023, a five-hour program focused on inspiring diverse high school students in the Atlanta metropolitan area to pursue careers in tech. At the event, thousands of budding innovators from districts including Atlanta Public Schools, Clayton County, and Gwinnett County will have the opportunity to hear directly from diverse representatives of leading tech companies, learn about opportunities in tech, and participate in an engaging Scavenger Hunt on the field of Mercedes-Benz Stadium.

“We’re overjoyed to be bringing Tech Exposure Day to its biggest stage yet. CodeHouse’s mission is all about providing our youth with the information and resources they need to pursue their dream careers, and this program is designed to do just that,” said Ernest Holmes, CodeHouse’s president and co-founder. “We hope that after today’s event, all of our attendees will leave feeling encouraged, inspired, and ready to solve the world’s most challenging problems with the confidence knowing that there’s a seat at the table for them in tech.”

Tech Exposure Day 2023 aims to tackle the diversity gap in tech across three different components focused on inspiring students to pursue jobs in tech, educate them about the pathways that lead there, and help them apply their learnings in an interactive setting:

  • Main Stage (Inspire): Main Stage programming will be hosted by CodeHouse leaders and feature panel discussions and fireside chats to provide students with the opportunity to hear directly from diverse tech industry professionals.

  • Tech Village (Educate): The Tech Village will feature dozens of tech and community partner activations where attendees will engage with company representatives and learn more about specific opportunities and initiatives. Tech Village will also host our Demo Stage – an area where CodeHouse partners will lead presentations about their companies and showcase their latest products.

  • Scavenger Hunt (Apply): Throughout the event, students will be encouraged to network with participating tech companies through an interactive Scavenger Hunt. As they progress through the challenge, students will have the opportunity to win thousands of dollars worth of prizes, get to know fellow attendees, and show off what they know by answering tech-related trivia questions.

“Today’s event wouldn’t be possible without the support of our dedicated sponsors and partners who are stepping up to the plate and showing their commitment to increase diverse representation in tech,” said Jaycee Holmes, CodeHouse’s director of curriculum & instruction and co-founder. “Together, we can make the industry more equitable for generations to come, which we believe can have a profound impact on future innovations and the world at large.”
