ERNEST HOLMES, President and Co-Founder

As a 2019 Computer Science graduate of Morehouse College, Ernest founded CodeHouse to help provide mentorship from professionals of color to high school and college students of color. He is currently a Technical Program Manager at Google on the Education Equity Team focused on technical skill building for HBCU and HSI students.


TAVIS THOMPSON, Director of Mentorship and Co-Founder

Tavis Thompson is a proud graduate of Morehouse College. After completing two internships with Facebook and one with Deloitte, Tavis is eager to help establish a community and showcase to students the various opportunities in the technology field. Tavis currently serves as the Director of Mentorship for CodeHouse, connecting CodeHouse Scholars with industry professionals. Tavis also is a Product Manager at Zillow.


JAYCEE HOLMES, Dir. of Curriculum & Instruction

Jaycee Holmes is a proud alumna of Spelman College where she earned her BS in Mathematics in just three years. She earned her Masters in Interactive Media and Design from NYU’s Interactive Telecommunications Program. For the past two years, Jaycee has worked as a Program Manager at Microsoft, working on new features and designs for their collaboration hub, Microsoft Teams. Jaycee is returned to Spelman College to serve as a Professor of Interactive Media and Co-Director of the Spelman Innovation Lab in 2020.


MADISON METIVIER, Creative Director

Madison graduated from Howard University with a B.F.A in Graphic Design with a minor in Art History. She has devoted her professional career to the creative world. This passion has led her to employment with companies such as Pentagram (under Micheal Bierut and Eddie Opara), CNN, New York Fashion Week and AT&T. Madison went on to found her own design consulting agency, Ojii Creative, along with two other founding partners in 2018. To date, the agency has worked with clients such as Universal Music Group, Harvard Business School, The Roots, and many more. In 2021 Madison was recognized by the Indigo Design Awards for her digital art series entitled, ‘A Study In Black Female Afrofuturism’ in the category of ‘Design for Social Change’. Currently, she is a Brand Identity Artist at Gensler, Creative Partner at Ojii Creative, and serves as Creative Director for Codehouse Corporation.


FLOR HOLMES, Treasurer

Flor Holmes earned her accounting degree at Baruch College, NYC. She served as the assistant finance officer for a non-profit organization and then continued her accounting career as an auditor for the state of Texas for 26 years. Presently she is a contract examiner for the state of Texas.


EMANI RASHAD, Director of Video

Emani Rashad is a Film Director and Owner of the Atlanta-based production company Saucier Films. Grounded with a mission to shed light on those left in the dark, Emani uses his skillset to mentor the next generation of BIPOC storytellers and promote accurate depictions on screen for people of color. Emani is an alumnus of Morehouse College, an MFA student at The University of Georgia, and a U.S. Army Officer. He proudly serves CodeHouse as the Director of Video.

Tiffani is a proud member of the CodeHouse team working to ensure that all of our social platforms attract engagement and responses from everyone.


JASIA ROBINSON, Graphic Designer


Jasia Robinson is a User Experience designer and proud graduate of Spelman College. Having a unique background in the Health Sciences, Jasia pivoted into Tech and found herself on a creative path of digital storytelling and content creation. Jasia currently works as a User Experience Consultant at Accenture and as the in-house Graphic Designer for CodeHouse.


JASMINE BAPTISE, Partnership Manager

Jasmine is an Associate Product Marketing Manager at Google and specializes in developing authentic and inclusive brand campaigns. She is a graduate from Rutgers Business School and originally from New Jersey. She currently serves as the Partnerships lead for CodeHouse Organization.


ELIZABETH NGUYEN, Program Operations Consultant

Process and Systems engineer here to provide a hand in organizing existing processes for Codehouse and building new ones to streamline execution.


HAILEY MANUEL, Opportunities Manager

Hailey joins the CodeHouse team to serve as the Opportunities Manager. She graduated from the University of Southern California with a degree in computer science and business administration. Hailey currently works at SeatGeek as a senior software engineer. Previously to that she was a software engineer at Twitter.


LAUREN DASILVA, Marketing Consultant

After graduating from Duke University, the Brooklyn-based marketer found her passion for storytelling through marketing in the tech industry and web creation. She has expertise overseeing large marketing campaigns, managing creative agencies, and running paid ads across numerous social media platforms from her experience as a Brand Marketing Manager on the Google Search team for over 3 years.


RACHEL TUCKER, Marketing Consultant

Rachel Mariko Tucker is the Founder and CEO of Mariko Management. After graduating from George Mason University where she majored in Communications, Rachel began a career in the events industry, organizing and leading large-scale, global conferences and trade shows from Boston to Amsterdam. Rachel leverages her expertise in managing, branding, and successfully positioning events, brands, and talent to deliver the optimal experience for Mariko Management clients.


TONYA HOLMES, Summer Bridge Program Manager

Tonya Holmes, MSW, Ed.S. is an educator who has served as a school teacher, school social worker, and high school administrator. She is a graduate of Spelman College and the University of Houston.


CHRISTOPHER WATSON, Curriculum Manager

Christopher Watson is a former educator, current Software Engineer that works with CodeHouse Curriculum & Mentoring teams. He holds a masters degree in Software Engineering and a Full Stack Web Development certificate. After spending a decade in the classroom teaching high school students, he brings his expertise from a Computer Science perspective and has helped numerous students transition to college and beyond. He’s always looking for ways to provide service & knowledge, and is grateful to be a part of the CodeHouse family.


ZACHARY HOLSTON IV, Program Manager

Zachary is a proud alumnus of Virginia Union University where he earned his bachelors in Business Management. Since then, Zachary has accumulated experience in creative project management and marketing strategy at several agencies. Through his extensive work and research Zachary has developed a passion for team building, service-based leadership, and cross-functional team collaboration.

Dr. Avery Kenly, Director of Student Engagement

As a native of Atlanta, Georgia, Dr. Avery D. Kenly is currently a Teacher Development Specialist with the Clayton County Public School System (CCPS) located in Jonesboro, Georgia. Within this position, he helps oversee the county’s non-traditional teacher preparation program and facilitates training for all new teachers in the district, paraprofessionals, substitutes, and other educators seeking professional learning. Given his dedication and service to the more than 60,000 students and staff members of CCPS, Dr. Kenly was named as the district’s Certified Support Professional of the Year in 2017.


Dr. Shelby Wilson

Shelby Wilson is currently an Assistant Professor working in the area of Computational Biology at the University of Maryland. She has been a member of the CodeHouse team since its inception in 2018 and has served as a faculty advisor for the organization. She believes strongly in mentoring students of color to help guide them into and through STEM fields.


Cass Taylor

Cass Taylor is a Creative Producer and Visual Designer at Adobe in San Jose, CA. Besides his membership on the Board of CodeHouse, he is also on the Board and Chairman of the School Committee at Saint Francis High School in Mountain View CA.

Maurice Washington, Previous Board Member

Maurice Washington was the Associate Vice President for Student Services and Dean at Morehouse College within the Division of Student Services. Dean Washington led a diverse portfolio of seven departments in the Division of Student Services that are dedicated to providing a premier student experience that commences with New Student Orientation and continues through commencement. He was our beloved advisor, colleague, and friend and we miss him dearly.
