CodeHouse Scholars Initiative FAQ’s

 

HOW WILL MY SCHOLARSHIP BE DISTRIBUTED?

Each scholar will receive $20,000 total in academic scholarships. $2,500 will be distributed to your school’s financial aid department each semester.

HOW Do I apply?

To apply, you will need to follow our link to the site for the application. From there, fill out all the required fields and submit your application!

WHAT SCHOOLS DO I NEED TO ATTEND TO BE A CODEHOUSE SCHOLAR?

You have to attend Clark Atlanta University, Spelman College, Morehouse College, Howard University or North Carolina A&T State University to receive the benefits of this program.

WHEN IS THE SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM?

The Summer Bridge Program will be during July 2024, with more details to come.

WHEN WILL I KNOW THAT I HAVE BEEN SELECTED TO BE A SCHOLAR?

The announcement of selected scholars will be made shortly after applications close.

WHAT DAY DOES THE APPLICATION CLOSE?

The application closes at May 17th, 2024 at 11:59 PM PST

HOW LONG WILL I BE A CODEHOUSE SCHOLAR FOR?

The expectation is that you will be a CodeHouse Scholar for all four years of your college/university matriculation. There are certain conditions where you could be dismissed from the program which are detailed within the CHSI contract and Code of Conduct.

WILL I MEET THE OTHER SCHOLARS IN MY COHORT IF I AM ACCEPTED?

Yes, you will meet the other scholars in your cohort.

DO I REALLY GET PAID FOR PARTICIPATION IN THE SUMMER BRIDGE PROGRAM?

Yes, each scholar will receive a $1,000 stipend at the end of the Summer Bridge Program. In addition, CodeHouse will cover flights to get to and from Morehouse College as well as food and board while attending the Summer Bridge Program.
